Phi Phi Island is about 45 km from Krabi mainland and about 48 km from Phuket. Phi Phi Island is part of Aonang District in Krabi Province.

All the main ferries arrive at Tonsai Pier. In Tonsai Village there are many types of amenities, restaurants, bars, pharmacies, clinics, massage parlours, souvenir shops, tatooists, and tour operators. Tonsai Bay is one of two bays on Phi Phi Island that form the peninsular.

Our morning trips return to base before 12:00 p.m. This allows guests plenty of time to take a shower and relax before taking the ferry back to the mainland.

Registration involves providing some personal information and proof of freediver  certification and logged dives. Most of the registration can be completed through our website. Although some things may need to be checked at the office situated in Phuket such as final payment.

Booking online means you will save up to 20% on most of our packages. We accept walk-in bookings, but then you’ll not take advantage of online discount. And there is the risk of us being fully booked.

Should you enter the wrong date or detail we can easily change it at our end. Don’t worry. We are flexible and accommodating.

If we have not received a 24hrs cancellation notice from the guest and the guest misses the trip the guest will forfeit their payment and there is no refund.

If the guest is unable to make it to the ferry in time, then the guest will need to re-purchase a new ticket and the fee for the previous ticket is not refunded.

Ferry services are usually able to run throughout the year. However there are a couple of times each year that the weather conditions may not permit the ferries to run as per schedule, but this happens rarely.

Ferries to and from Phi Phi Island run at fixed schedules. The last ferry is between 1430h – 1530h. Visitors that wish to transfer directly from their flight to a ferry should ensure they have enough time for the transfer between the airport and the pier before the last ferry departure.

There is not much difference in the time or the schedules to get to Phi Phi Island via either Phuket or via Krabi. The only reason would be whether one or the other is more convenient in terms of transit from Bangkok.

The only way to get to and from Tonsai bay is by boat as there are no roads on the island. We offer a longtail boat transfer service for guests participating in our trips. The rate is 300 baht per person one way between 06:00 a.m – 06:00 p.m

Due to the distance that Phi Phi Island is from the mainland, it is not possible to participate in our trips or courses unless you are staying overnight on Phi Phi Island.

There are many types of accommodation on Phi Phi island. Guests will need to arrange their accommodation.

For morning trips and afternoon trips, we can accept check-in before 24 h on the day of the trip. This allows us to prepare all ahead of time.

Our tours are scheduled to leave at certain times. Tours that are leaving in the morning need to be booked at least the day before so that we can prepare the equipment and staff. It is possible, sometimes, to book a trip in the morning that is going out in the afternoon. All booking acceptances are subject to our permitted group sizes.

There are a couple of ways to book.

Online

  • You can book online by using our website. For most programs like freediving courses we only require payment walk-in at the office situated in Phuket. Or in case not in Phuket, directly in Koh Phi Phi island during the meeting for the trip/course booked.
  • Longtail boat trips and transportation services require full payment

Walk-in

  • Walk-in bookings at the office in Phuket are subject to having available staff and/ or available spots on the boats

Guest may change the trip date as long as they have provided us with a 24 hour notice

In the event that the weather is bad to make the trip unsafe, Freediving Phi Phi  reserves the right to cancel or postpone the trip. If the change of date is unsuitable for the guest Freediving Phi Phi will refund the full amount.

There are a number of ferries operating from the same port at the same time. Although unusual in the event the ferry is full it is possible to put on one of the other ferries.

Speedboats are available for private transfers, although this option is more suited for larger groups that can share the cost or for persons that are not restricted to any budget.

Ferry tickets are readily available at the ticket desks at the piers prior to embarking. It is not necessary to book in advance, but obtaining them through us will save time and hassle.
